failed not healthcare.gov. >> republicans are not satisfied. >> healthcare.gov was done last night at 5:00 p.m.? it was down on monday and crashed last weekend. even this morning when we attempted to view the site before the hearing we were hit with an error message. >> gop lawmakers grilled sabilas about why more than 2 million people are getting cancelation notices for their current health insurance even though president obama said if you like your insurance you can keep it. >> he's been on the same page from the very start yet the regulations changed months after the bill was enacted. >> if someone is buying a brand new policy in the individual market today or last week they will have consumer protections for the first time. >> some people like to drink outs of a red solo cup and a crystal stem. you're taking away their choice. >> many republicans are calling for sabilas to step down. so far the secretary has showed no signs she's leaving.

in washington, danielle nottingham, wjz eyewitness news. >> the president is in boston today expected to defend his healthcare law that went into effect there. an early morning house fire in northwest baltimore leaves a man dead. the fire broke out just after 5:00 this morning in the 3800 block of hilton road. the victim was found on the second floor. he later died at the hospital. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. two lanes of i-95 are shut down this noon in joppa for a fatal accident there. police are on the scene right now along 95 northbound at mountain road. that's where a pedestrian was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. the cause of that accident is under investigation. maryland state delegate don dwyer is recovering after a car accident in pasadena. according to police another driver caused the crash while turning at a red light. no one was seriously hurt. just last week dwyer was

sentenced to 60 days in jail for dui in august and boating under the influence that led to injuring seven. another correctional officer admitted to helping a prison gang smuggle drugs. ron matz is in the news room with the latest on this. >> reporter: good afternoon. this is the 7th officer to plead guilty. 13 officers are accused of work being the black guerilla family gang. 26-year-old kimberly dennis is the latest to plead guilty. she worked at the jail for 7 years and admits she smuggled marijuana, tobacco and prescription pills into the facility. she is faces a maximum of 20 years at sentencing in january. >> thank you. earlier this year a federal gray indicted 25 people in this case, 13 correctional officers. we're learning more about a

murder/suicide. christopher robinson killed his exgirlfriend marine heart minute and andrew hoffman at hoffman's home. the department said he did not use his service weapon during the shooting. family members say robinson was unable to get over heartman's breaking up with him. the widow of a nevada middle schoolteacher who gave his life to save others speaks out for the first time. >> i knew exactly what he did. i knew that he stopped it. >> when sharon lands berry first heard about the shooting she sent her husband, michael a text message. she had a feeling he stepped in. >> police say a 12-year-old shot and killed the popular math teacher and coach. >> he wouldn't want me to be angry. there's no reason to be angry. >> three days before that the

well, good afternoon. what we've got going on here today very simply is a stuck weather pattern if you will. there's really no rain as we showed you at the top of the show in those clouds. the rain sitting well, with -- well off to the east. those clouds are hanging tough. with the sun lower in the sky the afternoon is going to stay cool. we're at 57 degrees, still going for a high of 63. winds barely moving south, southwest at 6. 83% humidity. barometer is at 30.26. 50 oakland, 54 cumberland, 59 hagerstown, the mid to upper 50s elkton, easton, 61 ocean city, almost 60 pax river, 60 degrees in the

district, annapolis and kent island. 55 bel air and rock hall. we have this aloft flow coming out of the southeast around that high. it's just tending to block whatever movement there is in the atmosphere. there's really not a lot of movement at all. i mean, look out to the west, it's sunny in pittsburgh. it's just a matter of moving these clouds over the area. it's not really going to happen. this warm front kicks into high gear, pleasant for halloween tomorrow. front comes through, cold front follows. chillier temperatures move in for the weekend. chillier, i mean the chill of fall. 63 degrees will be the high this day. 53, some clouds over night. tomorrow variably cloudy and breezy but 72 as the high. one more day in the 70s by the end of the 5 day 20 degrees colder. first warning weather details coming up shortly. still to come on wjz
